As part of the OFF Biennial the Booklyn based American artist Shandor Hassan develops an evolving installation in a former factory space at Sztregova utca. Partly inspired by urban working – construction – environments, and activities such as Budapest’s unique ‘lomtalanítás’, Hassan has an interest in physical and architectural space; his works are inflected with the qualities of the artifactual, the archaeological, and explore the very nature of materials, space and the process of built and deconstructed environments. In this current work the artist collects materials from the locality of the factory and photographs the process and the site, interacting with the existing layers of the physical architectural environment itself.

On the opening day, there will be a music and sound performance starting from 6:30 PM.
