Satellite Prague and Brno

Exhibiting artists: Students of Academy of Art, Architecture and Design (AAAD) in Prague, Film and TV School of Academy of Performing Arts (FAMU) in Prague,  Faculty of Fine Arts of Brno University of Technology (FAVU VUT) 

Satellite Prague and Brno is taking place in Czech Republic as a international part of OFF-Biennale Budapest. It is organized by several departments of Prague academies and university in Brno. It will take a form of events derived from educational processes of individual studios, transferred from the academy into a public space.

In the particular project Epizode IV. – Collection OFF-Biennale Budapest students of Sculpture Studio and their pedagogues Dominik Lang, Edith Jerabkova and Jan Haubelt will transfer their educational ritual of collecting objects, which takes place each Monday at their academy studio, to the place of an open market. This event is part of Sculpture Studio continuous project of interpretation of their collection of objects and things founded in November 17, 2014 under the name “Collection of Sculpture Studio”. Collection comprises of collected items accepted by a committee and also the comments surrounding the objects in the acquisition process and later on in the series of interpretations. Students and pedagogues will work with the different status of the object: collected object protected by the institutional law of the collection, object as a fetish and as a market goods. They will invite the students of all participating studios and general public to take part of the process of accepting objects acquired at the flea market into the “Collection Off-Biennale Budapest”.
