Portable Museum of Intermediate Spaces

Portable Museum of Intermediate Spaces

Curator: Kerezsi Nemere

A museum typically implies a permanent collection in a fixed location. The Portable Museum of Intermediate Spaces is a fine art collection intended for presentation in unconventional spaces and aimed at non-traditional audiences. Its essence lies in its portability, which serves not primarily a practical purpose but forms part of an intellectual and artistic process: it becomes a visual art act delivered directly to people.

Its goal is to illustrate works organized around the concept of intermediate spaces—ideas conceived between here and there, between the center and more remote areas—and to create correspondences between different perspectives.

The KTHM is a box-partition structure suitable for the safe transport, preservation, and exhibition of artworks. Thanks to its mobility, it can reach its audience in any public or private space suitable for exhibition, most often in locations where discussions about art—or questions of non-art and art—are uncommon or less typical.

The presentations are accompanied by guided tours, during which the curator of the collection introduces the works in prior consultation with the artists.

The strength and freshness of the KTHM stem from its dual nature: through the interaction of space and exhibition, it weaves together what has already happened with the ever-present now.

Venue: MÜSZI (1085 Blaha Lujza Square 1, Corvin Department Store, 3rd floor)
