A few decades ago, a new species appeared in the urban environment. Their emergence is familiar to everyone: they are usually born near busy consumer centers, and once released, coming to life on their own, their own stories begin. Some remain close to their birthplace, while others set out on long, adventurous journeys or enter the service of humans. By this point, each individual already possesses its own personality. These light, almost bodiless creatures begin to live as independent souls.

Their movement lacks any kind of regularity or repetition, and therefore shows characteristics similar to those of living organisms. Studying them is a joyful task; observing them reveals a varied choreography. In their soaring dance, it is easy to recognize the metaphor of freedom.

The souls hover on the boundary between existence and vision. Their nature is defined by immateriality and an intangible lightness, brought to life by the wind. The wind itself is never visible; we perceive only its effects: the rustling of leaves in the trees, the breeze caressing our face, the rippling surface of water, tangled hair, a fluttering skirt, and so on.

The Ploubuter Park serves the study of this newly discovered species. Its design is based on observing the individuals in their natural environment. Classified according to their place of origin and their relationship to humans, the specimens present a highly diverse picture—from those living in the wild to captured or domesticated versions; from solitary individuals to those living in groups; from wild specimens to those living in close proximity to humans, and even artificially propagated subspecies. On this occasion, we can examine the group behavior of the souls at a controlled observation site placed within the air currents along the Danube riverbank.
