Participants: Secco & Fresh.KO (Botond Keresztesi & Árpád Szigeti), Mózes Márton Murányi – animator

OFF-Capitaly/Gazdálkodj OFF-osan! is a life-size, mobile board game, designed after the popular board game used widely under socialism. In the context of the game we seek to explore the opportunities a young artist may have in today’s Hungary. The untilmate goal of the game is to achieve self-reliance.

A popular pastime after World War II. was playing board games, where player had to reach the goal, while complying with the game’s rules. The Hungarian adaptation of Monopoly, the board game becoming popular worldwide after 1939, is Capitaly, which greatly differs from the original in that here players do not influence each other and success depends solely on luck.

What opportunities does a young artist have in Hungary today? What obstacles does he/she face and what kind of support can he/she rely on, while trying to keep his/her independence? The goal of the game is nothing but to create a sustainable artistic life path.
