First part of the exhibition is the visual presentation of the book „aktuelle kunst in osteuropa” published in 1972 (DuMont, Cologne) by the well known West-German mail artist, editor and collector Klaus Groh (1936). Also at the exhibition: reviews and articles, reception-history, etc.

Second part of the exhibition presents works and documents from in the Artpool Archives and shows Artpool’s more then 40 years long cooperation with Klaus Groh: video documents from 1989 and 2007, original letters from Galántai and Groh, works by Groh made for several Artpool projects and the audio cassette collection of Klaus Groh (donated to Artpool in 2007).

The groundbreaking book by Klaus Groh, published in 1972 was a very important contribution to familiarizing Western Europe with Eastern-European, primarily conceptual art and land art, body art, action, etc. In this frequently cited publication, which eventually included works by 78 artists from Eastern Europe, there are works from the following Hungarian artists: Gábor Attalai, Imre Bak, Miklós Erdély, Tibor Gáyor, György Jovánovics, Gyula Konkoly, László Lakner, János Major, Dóra Maurer, László Méhes, Gyula Pauer, Attila Pálfalusi, Géza Perneczky, Tamás Szentjóby, Endre Tót. Among contributors from the neighbouring countries are Stano Filko, Milan Grygar, Jiří Kocman, Stanislav Kolibal, Julius Koller, Alex Mlynárćik, Ladislav Novák, Rudolf Sikora, Pertr Štembera, Jiří Valoch from Czechoslovakia; Janez Kocijančić, Bogdanka Poznanović, Miroljub Todorović from Yugoslavia.

Klaus Groh has developed from 1969 an important art network growing and effective for decades and mainly active in the field of mail art. The little IAC (International Artists’ Cooperation) publications edited / published / produced by him, the exhibitions at the art spaces operated by him (Micro Hall Art Center or Literaturium) as well as his continuous participation in international mail art, visual and sound poetry projects made Groh a significant hub of the correspondence art network in Germany.

At the exhibition in Artpool P60 – along the mail art, conceptual works and letters sent to each other – we can have an insight into the decades long relationship of Klaus Groh and György Galántai / Artpool, who had similar activities and played a similar role in Hungary.
