Ain’t free: Art history on stage
Ain’t free: Art history on stage

Director: Kriszta Székely
Throughout the 20th century, several debates had been hapenning in the artworld of Hungary. If we try to evoke the former conflicts, the basic motifs could look familiar: the origin of most of these theoretical discussions were the disagreement of the current cultural policy and the progressive artistic aspirations. The project summons the onetime conflicts and their participants, and also tries to locate the dynamics of the confrontations, and explore the dramaturgy of how these sequences of events were willing to abort new ideas in the scene of fine art. The project uses the tools of theatre to recreate the actual participants of that era, the background will consist of pieces of design works and multimedia footage.
