Peasant in Atmosphere

Peasant in Atmosphere

November 5, 2017

Concept: Dominika Trapp

The project takes the Dance-House movement as its point of departure. Starting in the 1970s, dance houses were important venues of Hungarian “counter culture” during the socialist times. Dominika Trapp and her fellows intend to interpret the heritage of folk culture applying critical methodology. Through a research based musical project, they create a link between the progressive representatives of contemporary art and members of the new generation of the Dance-House movement. Inspired by the original performers of the Hungarian folk music and the representatives of the early Hungarian Avant-Garde, the activity of the „activists” of the 1910s and 1920s a conceptual music group is initiated.
