A Sense of Warmth

A Sense of Warmth

September 29 – November 5, 2017

The narrator in Sven Johne’s movingly beautiful film works on a secluded island, which is a stopover site for migratory birds on their route from Scandinavia to North Africa. The idyllic environment and the community of scientists there, engaged in noble research, seem to offer an ideal escape for the burnt-out protagonist, who has become jaded because of the paradoxes and abuses of the modern world. However, the island gradually loses its original innocence and becomes increasingly similar to the world that she sought to escape.
