The <\/span>12-<\/span>week <\/span>Photography <\/span>and <\/span>Activism <\/span>Free <\/span>School<\/span><\/em> <\/span>is <\/span>a <\/span>model-<\/span>value <\/span>training <\/span>program <\/span>where <\/span>photographers <\/span>and <\/span>activists\u2014<\/span>both <\/span>those <\/span>from <\/span>difficult <\/span>life <\/span>situations <\/span>and <\/span>those <\/span>committed <\/span>to <\/span>social <\/span>issues\u2014<\/span>learn <\/span>and <\/span>teach <\/span>contemporary <\/span>photography <\/span>together, <\/span>incorporating <\/span>knowledge <\/span>from <\/span>photography, <\/span>human <\/span>rights, <\/span>sociology, <\/span>and <\/span>media <\/span>studies. <\/span>The <\/span>5-<\/span>day <\/span>open <\/span>workshop<\/span> <\/span>is <\/span>an <\/span>intensive <\/span>preparation <\/span>for <\/span>the <\/span>visual <\/span>public-<\/span>space <\/span>action <\/span>on <\/span>April <\/span>25<\/span>.<\/span><\/p>\n
