Somewhere in Europe there\u2019s an animal audience!<\/h1>\n

Performance by Marvin Gaye Chetwynd<\/span><\/p>\n

Marvin Gaye Chetwynd\u2019s performance produced for OFF-Biennale is an adaptation of G\u00e9za Radv\u00e1nyi\u2019s film Somewhere in Europe<\/em> (1948) with children and young adults from Budapest taking the roles of both actors and interlocutors for the audience to actively engage with the play. The film\u2019s scenes and serious subject matter are re-enacted\u2014based on how the children interpret the film\u2014through the combination of mime, colorful animal costumes, and projections. The collaborative performance project also involves a workshop and a private presentation of the play with a foster home in Budapest.<\/span><\/p>\n
