Organisers: Tam\u00e1s Komor\u00f3czky, Moebius Drawing School<\/span><\/p>\n

In connection with Off-Biennale, we have planned an art workshop and a related outdoor exhibition to be realized within the framework of a collective collaboration.<\/p>\n

The art workshop would be implemented in cooperation with the Moebius Drawing School, which has several years of experience in art education, together with its lead teachers and a group of 6\u20137 students who regularly participate in their program and are interested in the project. The sessions would take place in an open-minded, free-spirited environment; the lead teachers (Luca Korodi and Don\u00e1ta Gajz\u00e1g\u00f3) place emphasis on encouraging the creative imagination of their mostly high school\u2013aged students, using simple materials in a bold and accessible way.<\/p>\n

We have chosen the theme of the \u201cmaypole.\u201d The maypole is a symbol of the renewal of nature and a widely recognized symbolic element of springtime youth traditions across Europe. In our case, it could provide a concise structural framework for the sub-themes collectively explored during the workshop (freedom, compassion, solidarity, empathy, equality). At the same time, we do not intend to impose any kind of direct didactic approach on the project; rather, what is perhaps more important is the final aesthetic appearance of the jointly created object\u2014an \u201cabstract sculpture\u201d\u2014as well as the reflection on, experience of, and analysis of the creation process itself. It also means confronting the fact that collaborative work may involve a certain degree of individual compromise\u2014even the possible sacrifice of aesthetically pleasing fragments.<\/p>\n

The structure of the work would be installed at the outdoor venue, the Pagony garden area, in the first days of May, and the sculpture would be built and developed once a week\u2014treated as an ongoing process over time\u2014so that, week by week, it gradually reaches its final form, after which the result can be inaugurated and documented.<\/p>\n

Workshop participants: students of the Moebius Drawing School, approximately 6\u20137 people<\/p>\n

Workshop lead teachers: visual artists Luca Korodi, Don\u00e1ta Gajz\u00e1g\u00f3, and Tam\u00e1s Komor\u00f3czky<\/p>\n

Rarely Seen Experimental Films \u2013 Screening by Csaba L\u00f3di<\/strong><\/h3>\n

On Thursday, we organized a film screening presenting American and Canadian experimental films. The screening by Csaba L\u00f3di begins after dark in the Pagony garden area. Prior to that, from 6 to 7 PM, the Moebius group will decorate the maypole, and a fluxus\/event will also take place\u2014a performance inspired by the 1960s!<\/p>\n
