​Shandor Hassan (New York) will develop a site-specific and evolving installation at Sztregova utca, an industrial space located in the 11th district Kelenföld. The artist will collect materials from the site, and other urban environments of Budapest. The installation in part is inspired by the rich culture of Lomtalanítás, and an interest in the artifactual, the archaeological,architecture and the very nature of materials. The ongoing work will be open to the public during the “OFF” as an environment, installation, and performance – action – art work – in progress.

Shandor Hassan was born in Los Angeles California,and studied photography at the University of New Mexico – he is a photographer, installation artist and furniture designer/builder living and working in Brooklyn. He is developing works that involve the urban landscape, include constructing structures with found materials in abandoned spaces. His many photographic works  look at urban spaces and have included the cities of Jersey City, Brooklyn, Budapest, Istanbul,  extensive travels throughout the sub – urban  United States of America. Since 2009 he has done numerous exhibitions, residencies and projects, and collaborations  in Budapest Hungary, where he initially received a Fulbright in photographic works.

Shandor Hassan has been active in design and building and architectural projects and worked for others artists including the experimental architect  ‘visionary’ Lebbeus Woods. His work includes activities in urbanism and new developing concepts in contemporary architecture as they merge with art and that incorporate various mediums activities in his works
