1074 Budapest, Erzsébet krt. 39.

It’s the summer of 2014 and war rages in Eastern-Europe. In a city in the Hungarian countryside, refugees have taken up residence in a workman’s hostel. Ann, a young social worker, arrives to help them organize a special cultural program. Ann tells us the story of LOVELAND, based on the novel Moldovan writer Iancu Laura. The cooperation and performances of the refugees revives LOVELAND, a both imagined and very real tale, which talks about the effects of war on a small community. The situation looks hopeless in the dramatic story, but faith, sacrifice and solidarity nonetheless produce a kind of transcendent hope by the end.
